Coronavirus – update Friday 6th March

We have not had any further updates for schools from the government on coronavirus (COVID-19) since the last Parentmail was sent out on Wednesday.

Our cleaners are fully briefed on best cleaning practices and are sanitising all door handles and desks as part of their daily cleaning routine.

We have been directly contacting all families where it is known that a pupil has been on a trip outside the UK, and asked them to check the latest advice on overseas travel before bringing their child in to school.

Any parent who has a concern that their child may have contracted coronavirus must contact the school before bringing their child in. If your child is off sick, you will receive an email from school to remind you to check for coronavirus symptons i.e. if your child becomes unwell with cough, fever or shortness of breath we recommend that you seek medical advice from NHS 111.

The latest information on coronavirus can be found on the following GOV webpages and includes advice for travellers returning from abroad. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

We would like to remind parents to encourage their children:

> to follow the advice on good hygiene: CATCH IT, BIN IT, KILL IT

>to wash hands with soap and water or hand sanitiser: after breaks and sport activities, before cooking and eating, on arrival an any childcare or educational setting, after using the toilet, before leaving home.

If you have any questions about coronavirus related to education, you can contact the coronavirus helpline as follows:

> Telephone: 0800 046 8687

>Email: DFE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk

>Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

Thank you for your support in keeping our pupils, families and staff safe.
