Coronavirus – advice for parents

The government has asked schools to pass on information to parents about coronavirus.

They have said that you should not be unduly worried about the possibility of your children catching the Coronavirus. There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend their early years, school or further education setting as normal.

What action you can take

A UK wide campaign has been launched to provide clear advice on how to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Please support the campaign by following good hygiene practices and encouraging your children to do the same. We will be talking to the children in assembly about good hygiene and why it is important.

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel

Hand washing is one of the most important ways of controlling the spread of infections. Liquid soap, warm water and paper towels are recommended.
